From November 21st to the 27th, National Inter Faith Week is in full force across England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
Led by the Inter Faith Network for the UK alongside its member bodies, Inter Faith Week has succeeded in hosting and inspiring a wide selection of national events and local initiatives around the UK. Hundreds of organisations have come on board to contribute to the week, including faith groups, schools, academic institutions, local authorities and emergency services. Only in its second year, this year’s week has generated an immense programme that truly offers something for everyone. From dialogue debates and school forums to interfaith sporting events and outdoor activities to arts competitions and storytelling events to an eco-faith festival and women’s training sessions, communities everywhere are abuzz with entertaining, engaging and educational encounters.
Recognised for its importance to national life and local community wellbeing, Inter Faith Week is playing a key part in facilitating inter faith cooperation, understanding and strengthening of good relations. Celebrating faith communities’ and individuals’ contributions to society and their local surroundings, this week also offers the chance to increase understanding and respect across British society.
